Creating a real-life Medieval Castle in the Highlands of the Eastern Free State was a task of epic proportions. A 2-Part Mission undertaken with vision, patience and sensitivity, Castle construction was completed by the dedicated and unwavering Fogg family at the beginning of this century.
A journey started with the building of a road clear up a mountainside. All the way through intensive international research and sourcing, to the final resting of hundreds of tons of natural sandstone on a working farm estate already rich with natural beauty and steeped in cultural history.

Upon my arrival I was immediately transported into a space in time which took me back centuries where the knights in armour stood at Castle doors.
On entering the actual Castle I was in total awe and completely mesmerized at the sheer magnitude of everything which surrounded me, again taken back in time.

My visit to Destiny Castle was an Amazing experience! I could not believe a Castle without a rating, yet with 5-Star facilities, existed in South Africa. The view is extraordinary. Definitely a must for your Bucket List!
I have been to the Castle twice and immediately fell in love with it's ambiance. The wide open spaces and breathtaking views of the Maluti Mountains is at the same time tranquil and vibrating with a clean invigorating energy. Mother Nature and man's creation is joined in total harmony. I can't wait to visit Destiny Castle again.
Just outside Fouriesburg towers the remarkable Destiny Castle. We hosted a thirtieth-birthday Medieval theme party at the Castle and had the exclusive use of all the on-site facilities including the upper outside areas with its breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The Castle is such a gem that it is well worth the effort and any expense. Really worth a visit.
